Anyika McMillan-Herod is a Dallas writer and avid supporter of the important mission of the African American Read-In. Literacy, she believes, is a path toward freedom. Anyika is a co-founder and former Executive Director of Soul Rep Theatre Company. For the past decade, she has written for the stage and the pages of local and regional independent newspapers and magazines. She is currently editing her grandmother's memoirs and writing a novel. Her play, Mary's Baby, was recently staged and is blossoming into a larger project that she hopes will inspire a greater love for humanity in these difficult times. |
