OVERVIEW:

The African American Read In 2000 ‘s production, of “Ancestral Journeys”, (originally commissioned by Young Audiences of Greater Dallas, and written by Cheryle Y Washington) , is a multi-media piece, incorporating works from ancient and well known African American authors to chronicle the Black Diaspora experience. Performers from across the Metroplex and beyond will contribute their talents as musicians, dancers, vocalists and readers. Also, through the generous contribution of GTE – there will be an added dimension of video to our production. We invite the public to come and be a part of “Ancestral Journeys”: a family outing that will encourage, educate and enlighten the young, the old and all ethnicities!

Director/Producer: Cheryle Yvonne Washington
